We meet on the last Thursday of the month from 12.30 until 15.30, at the Diss and District Bowls Club.

What happens at a meeting?

The meeting starts at 12:30 but most people get there at about 12:00 when we rearrange the room and sit down for lunch together and help ourselves to tea or coffee. During our 2022 meetings, to avoid the spread of Covid, we are not using the kitchen for making tea and coffee and instead are bringing our own food and drink.

At the start of the meeting there is an introduction to the Show and Tell where members talk (briefly) about items they have brought along. Later there is an opportunity to examine these items and to talk to the owner individually to find out more details. Any member can bring along their work to share at this time.

The business part of the meeting follows Show and Tell but this is kept as short as possible. Minutes are circulated via email after each meeting: the secretary sends an email(s) between meetings to keep us up to date with correspondence and other matters; she also sends a reminder just before the meeting.

We are then ready to focus on the main event – a talk, or a mini-workshop. You can see the topics and dates of future meetings here, and read a little about previous meetings here.

Then there is time for another cup of tea and coffee, an opportunity to examine the Show and Tell items, to get your questions answered, etc.
